introducing glen lake pioneering

Glen Lake, MI, US

Friends,

I quit my job last month to start a company. Without a specific entrepreneurial idea in mind. This isn’t my first entrepreneurial rodeo, but it certainly feels the most risky …at least since the bar on a barge.

Glen Lake Pioneering applies an intentional discovery process to identify and solve one or more problems with a new business. The company has a specific mission in mind:

  • Apply technology to make the world a more healthful, equitable, efficient, or sustainable place

  • Solve problems alongside leaders that will change the world

Glen Lake Pioneering will create one (or maybe more…?) new companies that result from a prescriptive ideation, validation, and prototyping process. We will collaborate with a small team and large network (you all!) to identify hard problems to solve with innovative ideas and technology.

The process has been refined and broken into seven stages, as shown in this fancy graphic. The text is small. You don’t have to read it. Just know that it is fancy.

I can’t thank this community enough for the support to start this journey. Special thanks to Craig Markovitz for his steadfast support, and Miriam Tillar for her enthusiasm to join the team (from Malaysia, no less). Also, a thanks to Lawrence King and the Headstorm team for the foundational experience to build this business.

In future newsletters we’ll dig more into this process and include tidbits to keep you informed on the latest in innovation. It may be helpful for you. Either way, I’d love your feedback!

Lets do this.
